#APBABE Spotlight: Kate Sands from @honestlykate

We have been so impressed and inspired by Kate throughout this quarantine. We interviewed her and believe everyone can benefit from her deep and thoughtful answers. She has been a boss from birth!

1. Do you believe you know what your life purpose is?
Yes, I have known from a young age my mission in life was to inspire women worldwide to curate their own future and find confidence through mental health activations and workshops.
2. Try and remember a harder time when you were younger. What would you tell your younger self to help her?
I would tell my younger self that all the waves are part of life. Ride them and remember they too shall pass. Try not to take yourself so seriously, and always be empathetic toward others because you never know what someone else is going through.
3. What do you think the most important qualities are for a female entrepreneur to posses?
Confidence and authenticity. And always remember your values.
4. What do you think the world needs more of in regards to supporting female empowerment?
For women to continue building each other up instead of tearing eachother down with comparisons and jealousy.
5. What would you tell someone who continuously experiences setbacks when going after their entrepreneurial dreams?
Every overnight success took 10 years to build. Nothing happens fast or on time. Do not give up on your dreams just re adjust your focus. Sometimes you are focusing on the wrong people or tactics. Learn from your own mistakes and know how to move forward.
6. What would you recommend to girls to do to “find their purpose?”
Let it find you! Think of what you are most passionate about in life and know always remember your why.
7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hosting a morning talk show with a badass co-host and living happily with my boyfriend in NYC with maybe a baby and a dog ;)
8. Do you think you are an intuitive person? And why?
Sometimes my intuition is too intense and I have to give people a second chance. Always follow your gut.
